This Privacy Policy explains what happens to information when you use Rastik Live Wallpapers (the “App”), the Android app published by Dominik Rastner, and when you visit rastik.net (the “Website”). It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
The short version: the developer of the App does not collect, store, sell or share any personal information about you. The App has no accounts, no sign-in and no backend servers. Some advertising is served by Google AdMob, and that part is handled entirely by Google under Google’s Privacy Policy.
Who we are
The App and the Website are provided by:
Dominik Rastner Based in Italy Email: dominik.rastner@rastik.net
For the purposes of the GDPR, UK GDPR and similar laws, Dominik Rastner is the data controller for the limited processing described in this policy — in practice, very little. Where Google AdMob processes data, Google acts as an independent controller for that processing, and Google’s own terms apply to it.

Information the developer collects
None. The App is a collection of live wallpapers. It works entirely on your device, it does not require an account, and it does not transmit anything to the developer’s servers. There is no user database, because there are no users in the database sense.
The App does not collect or transmit:
- your name, email address, phone number or any contact details;
- photos, contacts, calendar, files or message content;
- your precise or approximate location;
- advertising identifiers or device identifiers;
- crash logs, diagnostics or usage analytics;
- anything else you type, save or see in the App.
Information collected by Google AdMob
The App is supported by advertising and uses Google AdMob. You can see the current version in the App under Settings → About.
Serving ads requires the advertising network to know a rough idea of who and what device is asking. Depending on your device, region and the ad format shown, this can include:
- Location — approximate location derived from your IP address, and in some regions precise location if you have granted the location permission to Google Play services;
- App activity — interactions with the ad, such as whether an ad was displayed or tapped;
- Device or other identifiers — the Android advertising ID, device model, manufacturer, operating system version, language, screen resolution and advertising-related settings;
- Diagnostics — information such as ad request latency and ad delivery errors, which is not used to identify you personally.
This data is used to serve and measure ads, to prevent fraud and abuse, and to select ads that are relevant to you and your device. It is not collected by the developer, and the developer has no access to it and cannot see it.
If you want to understand exactly what Google collects and why, read Google’s Privacy Policy and the AdMob help centre page on advertising data.
Google may share data with advertising and analytics partners as described in its own policy. The developer has no visibility into, and no control over, that processing.
Other third-party services
| Service | What it does | Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google Play Services | Platform dependency required to install and run the App | Google Privacy Policy |
| Google Play Store | Distributes the App and collects its own download and crash statistics | Google Privacy Policy |
| Google AdMob | Servers the advertising in the App | Google Privacy Policy · AdMob data use |
| YouTube (if you watch the trailer) | Serves video previews linked from the Website and App listing | Google Privacy Policy |
Permissions the App requests
The App requests only the permissions it needs to function:
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
SET_WALLPAPER |
To let you apply a wallpaper to your home or lock screen |
WAKE_LOCK / prevent device from sleeping |
To keep the animation running smoothly while it is visible |
INTERNET and network state |
Delivered by the Android SDK and the ad SDK; required for ads and for anything the system loads |
If you would rather not see ads, you can remove the INTERNET permission with an app manager such as AdGuard, or limit ad personalisation in Settings → Privacy → Ads. The wallpapers themselves work without a network connection.
This website
rastik.net is a static website. It does not use advertising or marketing trackers.
- Analytics — the site uses a self-hosted, privacy-friendly analytics instance at
umami.rastik.net. It records aggregate page views (page, referrer, country, device type) and sets no cookies, builds no profile, and stores no personal data. You can opt out by enabling the browser’s Do Not Track setting or a content blocker; the site honours it. - Server logs — like any web server, the host records requests (IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent) in ordinary access logs for security and troubleshooting. These logs are not combined with any other data and are not used for profiling.
- Local storage — the site stores one key,
theme, in your browser’s local storage so it remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme. It never leaves your device. - Cookies — the Website sets no cookies. Third-party services embedded in the App (not the Website) may set their own.
How long data is kept
The developer keeps no personal data, so nothing needs to be deleted. Data processed by Google AdMob is retained only for as long as Google’s retention policies allow, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
How your data is protected
All data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. The App is delivered over Google’s Play infrastructure, which is encrypted and signed.
That said, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. You should keep your own device protected: use a screen lock, keep Android updated, and do not root or jailbreak your device.
Your rights
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, the ePrivacy Directive or similar legislation applies to you, you have the right to:
- access the personal data being processed about you;
- delete it (erasure);
- correct inaccurate data;
- restrict or object to processing;
- port your data to another provider;
- withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent;
- lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
In practice, because the developer holds no data about you, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or erase. For data processed by Google AdMob — such as your Android advertising ID — you can control it directly:
- reset or delete your Advertising ID in Settings → Privacy → Ads (Android 9 and later);
- opt out of ad personalisation in the same screen, or via myadsettings.com;
- withdraw consent for personalised ads in Settings → Privacy → Ads → Ad personalisation.
For anything AdMob-related that you cannot resolve yourself, contact Google via the links in its privacy policy. For anything relating to the App or this Website, write to dominik.rastner@rastik.net.
Children’s privacy
The App is rated Everyone and is committed to following the Google Play Families Policy. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age of consent in your country), and the developer knowingly collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Because no data is collected, none can be obtained from a child. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us or to the App’s support address, contact dominik.rastner@rastik.net and it will be deleted.
Legal bases for processing (GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies:
| Processing | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Delivering the App to you | Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Responding to your support emails | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) and steps at your request (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Serving and measuring ads via AdMob | Consent and Google’s legitimate interests, as documented by Google in Google’s Privacy Policy |
| Aggregate, cookie-free website analytics | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
Do Not Track
The Website honours the browser’s Do Not Track signal. Because the Website does not set cookies or build profiles, there is nothing else to opt out of.
Your data is not sold
The developer does not sell, rent or trade personal information. No personal information is shared with third parties by the developer.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the App, the Website or the law changes. The “Effective date” at the top always reflects the current version, and material changes will be noted on the Website.
